Welcome to the Surrey Five Ways to Wellbeing
The Five Ways to Wellbeing describes small actions you can take to help you improve your mood.
The Surrey Five Ways to Wellbeing are an easy way to think and plan what you can do to boost your wellbeing, improve how you feel, strengthen relationships and connections with your local community, and reduce the risk of poor mental health. You can do this for yourself, your friends, or your team or organisation. These page will show you different resources for the Five Ways to Wellbeing: Connect, Be active, Take notice, Give, and Keep learning.
Here are some key points about wellbeing:
- People have many ways to think about wellbeing, but for most it means feeling good and enjoying what we do
- The things we do can change our wellbeing (and make it better or worse)
- People who are happy live on average 7 and a half years longer
- 1 in 4 people will experience a mental health problem
- There are 5 ways shown to boost wellbeing; being aware of what we do and trying to combine them will make a difference.
