CHaRMM Membership and Attendance
Guidance on suggested membership and minimum expectations for attendees of Community Harm and Risk Management Meetings.
Membership and Attendance
Although it is accepted this will vary across district and borough areas, and on a case-by-case basis, it is proposed that the core membership required to support the community harm and risk management meeting (CHARMM) process should include:
- Inspector and/or Sergeant (Surrey Police)
- Anti-Social Behaviour Specialist (Surrey Police)
- Community Safety Manager and/or Anti-Social Behaviour Manager (Borough)
- Housing Manager (Borough and/or Social Housing Providers)
- Environmental Health (Borough)
- Targeted Youth Support (Surrey County Council, representing Children's Services)
- Drug and Alcohol Support Services
- Mental Health Services
- Adults Social Care (Surrey County Council)
On a case-by-case basis, there will be other professionals required to participate in the CHARMM process on specific issues, for example:
- Family Support worker
- Community Rehabilitation (Probation)
- Child Exploitation specialist (Surrey Police)
- Domestic Abuse specialist
- Services that offer support to victims
- Community Mediation services
- School representatives
All CHARMM members will:
- Engage with CHARMM meetings in person where possible, and via the empowering communities integrated network system (ECINS)
- Provide meaningful and timely information to the CHARMM at meetings, and via ECINS
- Undertake actions in a timely way as agreed
- Contribute ideas
- Raise concerns constructively
- Come prepared
- Keep an open mind
- Listen actively
- Be positive
